How To Make Paper From Recycled Paper – You should plan about 20 minutes for this task. The diagram below illustrates how to make recycled paper from old newspapers. Summarize information by selecting and reporting key characteristics and compare them where appropriate. Write at least 150 words.
The nine-step process begins by tearing old newspapers into small pieces and throwing them into a bowl. A cup of water, exactly 250 ml, is then poured into the bowl and the paper is soaked in it for up to an hour.

Next, the soaked paper is beaten with an electric mixer for about 45 seconds until it forms a paste. Then the broth is poured into a shallow bowl, add another 100 ml of water and mix well by hand.

In the next step, the slurry mixture is carefully lifted out of the bowl with a piece of netting so that the water drains out. The pulp mixture is then placed on an old newspaper and pressed against the paper with a rolling pin to squeeze out excess water.
Finally, the new paper taken out from the old newspaper is left to dry in a warm place for at least 24 hours. Yes! I have wanted to make wings out of recycled paper for a long time. I finally got around to it this morning and we were very happy. I think you will be too.
During our homeschool years ago, we studied papermaking during a unit study on China. Paper was invented by the Chinese around 100 AD. What is cold? Together with some friends we made paper and printed and painted on it. I still have mine somewhere.
Papermaking can become a habit if you’re not careful. It is a fascinating and practical process. Once you get started, it’s easy to think of many things you can try to put on paper pulp to create different effects. It is also a wonderful way to recycle old paper.

The first thing to do is to make a print and cover. What is a? Ha! Let me explain. These are the devices that you use to spin paper pulp into a sheet of paper.
An easy way to mold and tackle is to use two old wooden frames. I used an 8″ x 10″ frame because it produces paper that is closer to the traditional 8.5″ x 11″ size.
Take the frames apart and discard the glass, cardboard and any nails or tabs on them. You need the law.
You take one of the frames and staple a piece of window screen over the top to cover the opening. Place the screen on the flat side of the frame, not the ribbed decorative side. This is your “brick paper”, which stretches the paper pulp. Dad nailed 4 boards together for me so mine is a little different.

The second frame is used in the same way as above the grid frame and is a “shape” that gives the paper an edge. More on that later.
Take a few minutes to pour water about 3 inches deep into the tank. You’ll be using it in minutes.
This morning we tested my paper shredder and as you can see from the pictures we got a big bowl of shredded paper. It worked well. If you don’t have a shredder, collect old paper in the trash and tear it into small pieces.
Place the grands in a blender along with a few handfuls of paper along with a generous amount of water. Mix the paper and water together until it becomes a lumpy mess. That’s the paper pulp you need. The kids really enjoyed this part.

Tip: Paper pulp needs to be in a lot of water, otherwise it will become hard for the blender motor. It also works well in paper making.
Little artists hold the form and the flat-sided bucket together in the water tank (the bucket with the sieve side is on the bottom). During this process you need to hold them tightly together and position them so that they are submerged in the water, but the pulp goes all the way down the tank. Pour the pulp into the open part of the mold and onto the tequila sieve. It spreads naturally on its own.
Remove the mold and lid from the water and let the water drain into the tank.
Place the mold and decal on a piece of paper and carefully remove the mold. It’s pretty cool to see the pulp sitting on the deck.

Place a paper towel over the pulp area. Gently wipe it with the flat surface of the sponge. Swirl the water from the sponge several times while continuing to wipe away some water. Removing the water from the pulp is called kooching (pronounced “cooching”), FYI.
Quickly flip your wing over the handmade paper so the paper towel is flat on top of the towel. Gently peel off the handmade paper, leaving the paper with the paper towel.
Take the paper towel and paper to the ironing board. Place a tea towel over it and iron very gently with very little pressure. It won’t dry out, but it will add some pressure and heat to bond the paper fibers. There is no glue that holds the paper fibers together.
The paper is usually placed in a press where it is dried and pressed flat. I don’t have that, so this will have to do.

There are many things we can do to create different types of paper. The second piece of paper the children made consisted of some paper pulp and a small handful of dryer lint. They can’t believe I saved the dryer lint!! It works well for getting fabric fibers on paper. Dad and I ended up picking up a lot of blue fluff from towels and jeans, resulting in light blue paper.
You can use construction paper or colored paper to make really cute polka dot paper. I’ve heard of putting food coloring in the blender to make it pink or yellow, but I haven’t tried it myself. I have seen paper with small leaves and flowers laid on the paper and placed on the mold after the pulp has been spread on it. They are bonded to the pulp couch.

One use of the material is to make small trays for things like apples. This prevents individual fruits/vegetables from bouncing off each other during transport. An egg carton protects the eggs, but isn’t completely rigid and rigid.
All you need is a mold, a household sponge, an “apple tray”, a spatula and a blender.
Pattern / handmade paper can be made from old picture frames or old wood lying around. To make my deck, I removed the screen print and used a screen print frame with the same nylon mesh used for screen windows. Mesh is relatively cheap and durable. I used an old picture frame for the pattern.
