Two Forms Of Valid Id

The modified driver’s licenses will include enhanced security features to better protect Florida residents from identity theft and driver’s license fraud.

“You’ll see the magnetic stripe being removed and the 2D barcode being transferred,” says Bakofksy. “The most noticeable is the tactile security in the lower right corner of the front of the card.

This addition – a raised bump – will help law enforcement officials and others, such as security guards and TSA employees, quickly verify whether an ID card is valid or not.

Regardless of the licensing changes, the Department of Homeland Security has set a deadline of October 1, 2020 by which all identification documents must match REAL ID.
