1 cup: 171 calories, 2g fat (1g saturated fat), 7mg cholesterol, 52mg sodium, 36g carbs (32g sugars, 1g fiber), 4g protein. Eat it instead of a piece of raspberry cake, chocolate coffee cake or zebra cake? Here’s my Strawberry Banana Yogurt Smoothie recipe that delivers. It’s high in protein and nutrients, low in fat, and most of the carbs come from fresh fruit. The best part is that it’s delicious. My kids love it. They say it tastes like melted fruit gelato. There is nothing better than starting the day with this healthy and nutritious drink.
Strawberry Banana Smoothie Healthy
I like to use a lot of strawberries in this smoothie. Strawberries are delicious on their own, and the added berries really make this smoothie shine. I use two full cups of fresh strawberries to one cup of yogurt and one banana.
Plain Greek yogurt adds a little flavor. Adding two tablespoons of honey, maple syrup or white sugar will balance it out. If you like your smoothie a little more, add a tablespoon or two.
The blender you use to make that smoothie is very important. To blend the ingredients in this recipe, you’ll need a powerful blender, such as the ever popular Vitamix 5200 series blender.
I use my beloved Waring Pro MX1000XTX XTREME commercial blender which is more affordable and delivers up to 45,000 RPM at full power. A high RPM blender also helps break down the seeds. I love that the Waring Pro Extreme crushes the strawberry so easily that you don’t even feel it in your mouth when you drink the smoothie. The smoothies come out of the air and velvety, pure drinking pleasure.
Strawberry Banana Smoothie (with Yogurt)
If you have a standard blender, you may need to add half a cup of your favorite juice to get the desired consistency.
This smoothie has healthy protein, 26 grams per whole recipe or 13 grams per serving. If you want to increase the protein content, add a few tablespoons of chia or flax seeds. One tablespoon will add about one gram of protein. If you have a powerful blender, just put the seeds in the blender and it will process easily, you won’t even feel it. If you are using a regular blender, you can separate the seeds in a coffee or spice grinder before adding them to the blender.
To make the smoothie quite thick, you can add a cup of ice. Ice is also a great addition on a hot summer day, making smoothies very refreshing.
You can also substitute fresh strawberries for frozen strawberries. If you do this, you don’t need to add ice because the smoothie will be too thick. That’s not necessarily a bad thing if that’s what you’re looking for.

Strawberries are one of my favorite fruits. I could eat them every day. Yesterday I bought 4 kilos of strawberries from the local fruit market. they are beautiful!! Very red and big! And very tasty!! Hmm!
Today I took some and made a very simple and delicious smoothie for breakfast. This smoothie is rich in fiber, potassium, vitamin C, calcium and antioxidants. In other words, full of good things.
I used plain yogurt and added vanilla extract, but you can use plain vanilla yogurt. Also, you can add chia seeds if you have them. You can’t go wrong with the classic strawberry and banana combo. Plus, it’s hard to beat the taste!

Strawberry Banana Smoothie ⋆ Real Housemoms
I’m always looking for fun smoothie recipes for the kids because my daughter loves waking up to a freshly made breakfast! 🇧🇷
I use the blender more to make breakfast for us and my mini chef likes to help, but sometimes he just wants to wake up early in bed. Her favorite color is pink, which is why this strawberry banana yogurt smoothie is now her favorite.
Speaking of blenders, I got a new blender from KitchenAid to try out and WOW. People. I am in LOVE with the Pro Line Series Blender. The fact is that these high-speed blenders cost a lot of money and so far in the test this one has impressed me a lot and I have tried and had most of them. If you are going to spend the money, you need the blender to be worth it.
My mini chef hates noisy blenders and I feel the double walled pot adds a bit of noise too (also great for making soups!). I haven’t touched any other blender since I got this one. I’ve found myself holding the lid on other blenders and this one feels more durable, definitely “hands-free”. 🇧🇷
Apple Strawberry Smoothie
When we first had Kay, she had food allergies, and we needed to blend a lot of things to get nutrients in her food, this blender blends and there are no lumps. It also has an ice cream maker. Having grown up on smoothies, she still loves them! She usually needs a smoothie at least 4 times a week.
She is excited to make a frozen smoothie with me this week. I told her we were going to go to the store and get all her favorite smoothie ingredients. The best part about being involved in smoothie making is that she knows what’s going on inside. Last week she made one with kale, but it turned brown…. working on making it green so we can share and take pictures of course. 🇧🇷
She kept adding strawberries, and I think between the strawberries and the blueberries and the kale, it was the color of poop. He was afraid to drink it but it was delicious and he loved it! Children eat with their eyes first, so I always try to entertain them or involve them in the process.
Can’t wait until the farmer’s market opens and we can pick up fresh local fruits and vegetables for breakfast smoothie recipes!
