We actually tried a couple of ways to make bouncy balls and one flopped a bit and the other was very successful and made cool balls that bounced like crazy.

So the first test is a recipe that I saw many places I copied the instructions from Chemistry.about.com three different times and each time had the same result They will never give you the super bounce you expect- our “bounce” is about 6 inches in the air :). I still think they are fun and since it only takes a minute or two why not give it a go. My girls love the texture of the balls and they still enjoy this experiment but don’t be fooled because these bouncy balls don’t have a lot of bounce in them.

Continue rolling until it is no longer sticky and forms a solid shape As I rolled I saw little bits coming out so I did it in sync
How To Make Glow In The Dark Bouncy Balls
Leave it for a few more minutes until it becomes sticky to the touch And Bounce!! We added a bit of glitter to the ball while rolling and it turned out to be a wonderful shiny ball.
So on this occasion I pulled out this bouncy ball kit that I bought a few weeks ago at Target for $3.00. (Actually the last day of the school ferry brought it up.)
The kit looks like this and is available in the summer season section – so they probably won’t sell it this year

My girls actually brought the balls to bed with them because they were so excited This is a fun little activity for the 4th of July when the kids stay up late because it glows in the dark. It can also be something to do while planning a summer camp trip
