I went to see this scary movie in high school where the water in this building is apparently haunted (spoiler: it turns out there was a body in the water tower for the building). Usually this thing attacked people around water or in the bathroom.
Well, after watching this movie, I use the bathroom at Wendy’s and all the power goes out. I started to cry. I ran to the bathroom door and couldn’t open it. This was before smart phones so I completely lost it and there was no light. I felt a push on the door and saw all my friends standing in front of the door because to my horror I was pulling the door the wrong way.
I walk out and the whole restaurant is looking at me. Looks like all the power on that street went out just as I was in a vulnerable spot in the bathroom haha!

Sometimes a childless couple in a religious community feels like a third-class citizen. We have to work very hard in society to make friends. People often ask invasive questions about really private things. When we go on vacation or do something fun, receiving judgmental comments about our life choices means we’re being selfish. If I gain weight or have hormonal issues that cause me to carry weight in my stomach, I always wonder if I’m pregnant (often, in front of people). If I experience something difficult, I often say it’s not bad because I don’t have children yet. On the contrary, it makes me really grateful for the friends we have because they are wonderful.
I used to be so into music and really got it back a few years ago. Being interested in music takes a lot of time, and during my post-graduate studies I listened to mostly instrumental stuff for two years. I love everything I listened to in high school and college. Spotify gives me some great stuff.
