You might think that such a simple recipe wouldn’t satisfy, but I can say that it definitely does.
I love these frozen banana chunks because they are something I could eat at any time of the day. Whether it’s between breakfast and lunch when I feel extra hungry, or in the middle of the night when I want to reach for something sweet.
Luckily, these bites provide the sweet fix you want, but in a healthy, bite-sized package that’s perfect if you want to control your portions and don’t want something sweet or dense like banana bread or cake.
The best part is that you can make this recipe in a big batch ahead of time, and you’ll have snacks throughout the week. All you need to do is store them in an airtight container.
How To Make Frozen Chocolate Bananas (39 Cents Each!)

Get your chocolate fix with homemade frozen chocolate banana chips. With just three ingredients, this is the easiest snack you’ll ever make.
Line a large baking sheet with baking paper or wax paper. This will prevent the slices from sticking to the baking sheet. You can also use a nonstick silicone pan liner for this.
Easy Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies
Place the banana slices on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer with some space between each. Freeze for at least 30 minutes.
If you’re not ready to cover the bananas at this point, place the banana slices in a freezer-safe plastic bag. Store for a few weeks, and finish the recipe another day.
Add the chocolate to a microwave-safe bowl and microwave on high in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth and completely melted.
Place a banana slice on a fork and dip it in the chocolate. Hold the disc on the fork and dip it, then lift it out to let the excess chocolate run through.

Once you’ve covered all the fruit, put the tray back in the freezer for another 30 minutes.
For this recipe, we’re keeping things very simple by saying that “chocolate chips” are required. That means you can make these frozen banana chunks however you want.
You can use milk, dark, white, or even dairy-free chocolate chips to cover these frozen slices. If you want to shake things up for the week, try doubling the recipe and layering them with two different types.

To make this chocolate smoothie without the banana, simply use 1/2 of a medium avocado instead. Don’t have avocados on hand? Greek yogurt works well too! Start with 1/2 cup and increase the amount until you get the desired smoothie thickness.
You can always add peanut butter to a chocolate banana smoothie to really kick it up a notch! Simply add the peanut butter to the blender along with the other ingredients and blend. Add extra peanut butter on top for a next-level healthy treat!
