But here’s a better way, one I learned a long time ago from Manisha, the brilliant and wonderful blogger at Indian Food Rocks. Manisha’s method is to release the tomato paste in separate portions, making it easier to use after a solid container of tomato paste.
I took Manisha’s tip a step further by dividing the tomato paste into drops about a tablespoon in size. So I can reach into the freezer and pull out a tablespoon here or there, whenever I need it.
