However, many beginners who want to start a blog do not want to make the initial investment to set up a blog. This makes perfect sense.
There are many websites that offer users the ability to create a blog for free. If you want a simple free blog, we recommend starting your blog with WordPress.com or BlogSpot.com.
However, as mentioned above, for beginners, it is a great way to learn how to blog and start the writing process.
This post is for “beginners” who are new to blogging and want to get started by learning the basics involved in the process.
My Blogging Workflow
To create your own BlogSpot website for free, go to BlogSpot.com and log in with your Google account. If you don’t have a Google account (gmail), you can create one for free.
On first use, you will be given the option to use the ID of your Google Plus account or use a small BlogSpot profile. We recommend using a Google Plus profile.
After logging in, click “New Blog” or click the following link to go there. Create a free blog
The first thing you need to do is add a name and choose a domain. For more information, please read “How to Choose a Domain Name”.

Do not use your personal name as your domain name, use a generic domain name that you can later brand as a custom domain name.
There are a few settings you need to set to make your new BlogSpot site easier to use.
You are now on the BlogSpot website where you can see your blog background. From here you can go to “Settings” and tweak your blog to make it look better.
But before you write your first post, it’s a good idea to go to “Pages” and create at least one “About” page that describes it.

Most importantly, you need to change your blog templates because they are already generic and boring (in my opinion).
On this page you can also add a logo to the blogSpot header and add or remove various other items.
“Enter” AdSense on your blog and activate it. This way you can earn money from your free blog.
Your blog is now ready and you can start writing posts. There are a few more things I recommend.

How To Start A Blog
Why should you trust me, the strangest person on the internet? I’ve been posting wrinkled outfits since high school (feminist~dresses~ at the time) and have been writing for over 10 years. Since then, I’ve made my blog a place to tell stories and share resources about travel, running, and fitness. My blog is also profitable.
Over the years I have learned a lot about blogging and managed many sites. A job that helps manage a blog with 1 million views per month! Now, I want to share a few things I’ve learned to help you set up your website as efficiently as possible and avoid it as much as possible.
I think it’s important to address the issues before we start in earnest. Will blogs die in 2020? With the proliferation of new social media, do people still read blogs?
I wrote a whole post about why blogs are dead. Check it out for an in-depth discussion. For now, here’s a closer version.

Google images of “fashion shows” and “fashion shows” – Just like fashion blogs are in decline, we can see fashion shows going down and fashion shows going up.
But that doesn’t mean you can’t share personal stories. can be shared. However, the posts with the greatest reach include these personal stories as part of a useful resource. Returning to my personal writing career, for example, I wrote a memoir-style account of my first solo trip and subsequent Couchsurfing experiences. I recently reposted that story, but as part of a Couchsurfing guide.
If you’re feeling frustrated because you wanted to start your own blog, then you need to move on! These tend to be very popular only in your circles and growing your blog beyond that will be difficult.
Conclusion? It’s still worth blogging, especially if you plan to tailor your content to people’s interests and learn the right blog marketing strategies (discussed below).

Starting A Blog Is A Breeze With Ning
The first thing you need to do is choose a topic or “niche”. Travel, personal finance, movies, fitness, photography, politics, marketing, agriculture, lifestyle, anything. You can even write about blog sites that focus on making money blogging!
This step can be overwhelming because you can write about anything you want. Ask yourself the following questions to help you decide.
The last question is unacceptable, but it’s an important one if you want to reach more people and spend money. If you write amazing stuff but no one cares, you’ll have a hard time gaining readers. If the gap is too large, it’s difficult to hear your voice in the noise.
Choosing a broad niche can help you find a more specific niche. Having a specific spot is especially important for completeness. Let’s say you want to write about travel. Will you focus on continents, countries or cities? Or by type of travel like sustainable travel or car life? If you write about politics, will you mainly talk about American politics? For fitness writers, are you going to discuss hiking, running, or home workouts? While staying out of this particular niche is fine, having a focused body of content can help you develop your blog’s brand or reputation. For example, I generally write about travel, but specialize in France.

Can I still have more seats? Marketing experts discourage many unrelated sites because people will not be familiar with your entire site and not everyone will be able to connect to everything you write about. I’m not ashamed to break this rule, but I think branding and long-term readership growth will be easier if you focus on one niche. That said, having multiple sites has saved my traffic during the pandemic. My travel content is down, but my training content is up, and my running post is getting a lot of traffic.
It’s ultimately up to you – just know that if you go to a lot of places you’ll be blogging a lot and growing followers for a long time will be very difficult.
